02 May Black & White and Pink all over
Working with the Inside Out LGBT Film Festival in 2014.

It’s that time again.
May is an exciting month for Queer film lovers in Toronto because Inside Out transforms the TIFF Lightbox into a candy store of LGBTQ films. For Light Up the Sky, this means April and early May find us super busy prepping the marketing support materials for the festival. Invites, posters, postcards, tickets, buttons, t-shirts, ads … it’s a long list of goodies, and we love rolling them out!
This year’s fest is proving quite strong as it hits it’s halfway mark with the Centrepiece Gala presentation of Love is Strange, and I know both Jonathan and I are keen to check out a few more films and events (Lost Girl panel here I come!) before things wind down.
As for the new look, Inside Out wanted to build a design around film stills and we were excited to find an eye catching way to do so. Hello vibrant pink and cropped out B&W grainy stills! We are definitely finding 2014′s festival identity a visually pleasing way to celebrate the films featured this year, and we hope festival goers feel the same.
Why not have a look-see at some of our designs in fine poster form:
Oh and we LOVE how Santosh Isaac brought the design concept to life on screen (totally digging the track by The Wet Secrets too). If you haven’t seen the Inside Out teaser video yet, treat yourself to this :
